Your website remains under your control
Your website should not become something only a developer can access or control. Wherever practical, your business keeps control of its domain, website code, hosting account, stored information and important services.

The important accounts
This includes the account where your website code is stored (the source-code repository), your website hosting account (the cloud subscription), your domain, stored files, payment service, email service and monitoring tools. Access used for our work should be limited and removable.

Where your main information is stored
Choosing the country or region where your main information is stored is called regional hosting. Australian regions may be available depending on the provider and service. We document the chosen location and known limitations rather than promising that information can never leave it.

Outside services
An outside service that handles information is a third-party processor. Payments, email, hosting, analytics, AI and support tools may all be outside services. We identify what they receive and why before an approved connection is added.

Other companies used by a provider
A service provider may use another company to help deliver its service; this is called a subprocessor. Some subprocessors may operate internationally. Where this is known and relevant, it belongs in the information-flow record.

AI and analytics connections
Customer information is not intentionally connected to advertising, analytics, AI or unrelated services without approval and a documented reason. Optional connections remain optional.

Website code and licences
Paid work made specifically for you is handled under the client agreement. Existing Productionise tools remain Productionise property. Open-source software, outside components and AI-builder platforms keep their own licence terms. The signed agreement must record the final ownership position.

Specialist help
Productionise is led by an experienced Australian infrastructure and cloud engineer. Specialist support may be introduced where required, governed appropriately and disclosed where relevant. Exclusively Australian delivery is only promised where contractually agreed.

Moving to another provider
Client-controlled accounts, clear notes and a proper handover reduce unnecessary dependence. Subject to the signed agreement, licences and provider limits, another suitable provider should be able to continue the agreed work.
Important limitations
- Hosting locations depend on provider capabilities and the way the site is built.
- Outside services may use international subprocessors.
- Payment and email services operate under their own terms and locations.
- Open-source and outside components retain their original licences.
- Formal ownership depends on the signed project agreement.
- AI-builder terms may affect export, use or ownership.
- Productionise provides technical services, not legal advice.
- No website or app can be guaranteed completely secure.
